MSF Program: Waiver Policy

MSF Program Waiver Policy

In order to be considered for course waivers in the MSF Program of the College of Management, students must demonstrate they have successfully completed undergraduate or graduate course work equivalent to the Business Core courses offered in the program. If a student (1) can demonstrate equivalent graduate or undergraduate course work in the last seven years from an institution of recognized standing, and (2) has received a minimum grade of B or higher in those courses, the student, upon admission to the Program, may submit a request for waiver of credits to the Graduate Program Office. For each course waived, the total number of credits to complete the Program is decreased by three. Waivers are granted at the discretion of the graduate program staff and are not assured based only on the information below.

MSF CORE COURSE UNDERGRADUATE COURSES WHICH MAY HAVE EQUIVALENT ELEMENTS

AF 601 Economics for Managers Micro- and Macroeconomics

AF 610 Accounting for Managers Financial and Managerial Accounting

AF 620 Financial Management Two junior-level finance courses

To apply for a waiver for courses in the MSF program, students must complete the Course Waiver Form included with their acceptance package. Students should provide the name and number of the courses used to apply for a waiver, as well as the semester and year in which the course was taken and the grade received. Additional information, such as course descriptions or syllabi, may be required to process a waiver request.
