MBA Admissions Process
Admission to the MBA program is based on grades, test
scores, essays and recommendations. The process is
selective and produces one of the best-qualified groups
of MBA students in the Greater Boston area.
When applying to the MBA Program, you must submit the
following items:
- A completed Online
application
- Official transcripts from all higher education
institutions attended, undergraduate and graduate,
whether you received a degree or not
- Official GMAT scores
- Three letters of recommendation from employers,
professors or character references
- Two essays as
described in the University graduate admission packet.
- The first (approximately one page in length) should describe why
you have chosen to apply to UMass Boston.
- the second
(approximately 2-3 pages in length)
should describe your reasons and preparation for
graduate study and discuss how obtaining your MBA
will contribute to your professional
development.
- Application fee: $40 for Massachusetts’ residents,
$60 for all others.
Each of these items is important in the consideration
of your application, which cannot be fully processed
until all elements have been submitted.
International students must also submit:
- Bank statements (in English) showing $31,034 in
cash available
- Letter of support if another party is providing
your funds
- Declaration and Certification of Finances (DCF)
form
- Official TOEFL scores

Deadlines:
We encourage you to be sure that your application is
complete and that all supporting material has been
submitted by the
deadline in order to ensure consideration for that semester.
For Fall Semesters:
- Priority deadline: March 1
- International application deadline: May 1
- US Citizen application deadline: June 1
For Spring Semesters:
- International application deadline: December
1
- US Citizen application deadline: December
1
