College of Management Students
will be advised in three places during their academic
career at UMass Boston:
• University
Advising Center :
Campus Center room 1100
College of Management students who have less than
60 credits, and/or are in their first semester and/or
have not yet declared a concentration are advised
in the University Advising Center. You will have
an academic hold placed on your record each semester,
and will need to meet with an advisor in the UAC
to have it lifted before you can register for fall
or spring courses. You will have an advisor assigned
to you, and you can see that assignment on Wiser.
While you can see any advisor you feel comfortable
seeing, the advisors who work with College of Management
students primarily are: Jim McCarthy
and Shiho Shinke.
• College of Management
Undergraduate Program Office: M-5-603
College of Management students who have declared
a concentration can be advised in the CM Undergraduate Program Office. You will not have a hold on your
account, but it is advisable to talk with an advisor
before registering for upcoming courses. Walk-in
hours are available daily. The semester schedule
is available in the office, as well as on the bulletin
board and in the Undergraduate
Update,
and you can call 617-287-7760 to confirm there are
no changes for the day.
• College of Management
Faculty Advisors
Faculty advisors are excellent resources for students
with questions about the concentrations before
they choose one, career paths related to various
areas of management, or elective choices within
a selected concentration. You are encouraged to
talk with a faculty advisor about course selections
related to your concentration before you register.
