CM GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT For Students Who Matriculated In CM In Spring 2002 or Earlier.
 
College of Management students fulfill the General Education requirement by completing course work in the Liberal Arts area and Elective areas. The CM Diversity and International requirement (next page) should be completed via liberal arts and/or elective courses.
 
Liberal Arts – 10 courses (30 credits) NOTE: Liberal Arts courses cannot be taken pass/fail.
 
Students must successfully complete the Level I and Level II requirements in three (3) liberal arts areas. Students select an appropriate level course from several departments in the College of Arts and Sciences to fulfill the requirements. The tables below list each liberal arts area and the departments offering appropriate courses.
 
Level I: 6 courses (18 credits)

Students must successfully complete two (2) courses to fulfill each of the three (3) different liberal art areas.
 
Liberal Art Area Departments
Humanities
2 courses (6 credits)
Art, Classics, History (including Africana Studies History), Languages Literature, Music, Philosophy, Religion, Theater Art.
Natural Sciences
2 courses (6 credits)
Anthropology 102, Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Geographic Science with an N designation, Intro-d 125, 126 (Science for Humans Survival I & II), Physics (including Astronomy), Environmental Studies with an N designation.
Social Sciences
2 courses (6 credits)
Africana Studies, American Studies, Anthropology, Earth and Geographic Sciences with an S designation, Latin American Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Women’s Studies.
 
Level II: 4 courses (12 credits)

Students must successfully complete four (4) courses at or above the 200 level from any of the three (3) different areas. Courses may be chosen from one department or from a combination of departments in all three areas. Math courses numbered 140 or above and Computer Science courses numbered 210 or above may be used to satisfy this requirement.
 
Liberal Arts Area Departments
Choose any four courses from any of the 3 areas. All must be numbered “200” or higher.
Humanities Art, Classics, English, History, Languages, Linguistics, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Religion, Theater Arts.
Natural Sciences Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science (CS 210 or above), Earth and Geographic Science with An N designation, Mathematics (MA 140 or above), Physics, Environment Studies with an N designation.
Social Sciences Africana Studies, American Studies, Anthropology, Economics, Earth and Geographic Science with an S designation, LatinAmerican Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Women’s Studies.
