College of Management Writing Guidelines

Possessing excellent written communications skills is increasingly necessary for success in the business world. To help our students to develop their writing abilities, the professors of the College of Management have reaffirmed their commitment to the highest standards of stylistic soundness, grammatical correctness, and academic honesty. The materials at the website address above are designed to assist students with writing challenges that apply in management. You are responsible for knowing and using these guidelines. The CM will hold its students to these standards for all written work in all CM classes. Individual instructors may have additional requirements that are relevant to a particular assignment or field of study.

In all written work, please be aware that plagiarism is a serious violation of the Code of Student Conduct. In written work, for example, a general guideline is that if more than three words of another’s words are used in your work, those three words should be in quotes and cited. University policies and procedures regarding academic honesty are detailed in the Code of Conduct for both the MBA and the Undergraduate programs.
